Our Gestüt is a recognized EU insemination station. Mare owners who use our services recognize not only the following Terms & Conditions as binding but also the Terms & Conditions for the Breeding and Insemination of Mares issued by the Oldenburger Verband.
Fresh and/or frozen semen is available from our stallions. If a stallion is unavailable for special reasons (shows, illness, etc.), frozen semen may be used instead, if available, or if the customer desires, another stallion from our station may be substituted. The mare owner is not entitled to a refund or partial refund of the stud fee.
During the months April to July, depending on breeding load, two doses of semen per estrus cycle will be made available.
Breeding certificates (Deckschein) are to be presented to us at the beginning of the breeding season (do not give them to the veterinarian!).
Semen can be ordered daily from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For same day shipment, semen must be ordered by phone (+49 (0)5432 - 80 38 811) or fax (+49 (0)5432 - 80 38 88) by 10:00 a.m. and by 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays (all orders from abroad must be received by 9:00 a.m.) On Sundays, semen can only be picked up at the Gestüt.
When ordering semen, the following information must be given:
If we do not receive complete information, we cannot ship semen.
Complaints (semen, shipment) must be made in writing by 12:00 noon the day the semen arrived.
The breeding station is only liable for willfulness and gross negligence.
The stud fee is due as soon as semen is ordered the first time. Subsequent orders of semen will only be sent if the stud fee has been paid in full. Stud fees and charges for boarding are final prices and include VAT.
The cost of shipping semen is to be paid by the mare owner and will be immediately billed by the shipping company. Shipment by special courier (airports, express railways, etc.) will be invoiced separately according to costs.
The following applies for shipment abroad:
Containers must be returned with sufficient postage; otherwise incurred expenses will be invoiced.
Mares are stabled only with the station's veterinarians. Boarding is subject to the terms set by the veterinarian. Mare owners agree that the veterinarian may be called in at the owner's expense if deemed necessary by the stallion owner. Mares are boarded at the risk of the owner.
Mares are examined by our station veterinarians by appointment as well as on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at a time to be agreed upon in Benstrup. The cost of the examinations is to be paid by the mare owners.
With the exception of maiden mares and mares in foal, a cervical culture report is required for mares not in foal. In the case of mares that do not come in foal or have reabsorbed in the 2012 breeding season, half of the stud fee paid for the year 2012 will be credited to the stud fee in the following year. A prerequisite for this is that a veterinary certificate confirming that the mare is not in foal is presented by December 1, 2012 and there is proof that the stud fee was paid in full in 2012.
The stud fee for mares inseminated after July 1st for the first time of the respective year that do not come in foal will be completely credited (in the respective price class) to the following year if a veterinary certificate confirming that the mare is not in foal is presented by December 1st at the latest. If we do not receive this certificate, the stud fee will not be credited.
Special agreements are only valid if they are in writing.
We are open weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
The breeding season is from January to July 31st.
