Champion Stallion 2009
Con Polydor was the Champion Stallion of the 2009 licensing in Kreuth and one of the few German stallions approved for the Netherlands. He did an excellent job at his 30-day test which he took in Münster-Handorf in 2010. In 2011 he competed in tests for young show jumpers, winning one after the other. Con Polydor has a unique aura, an exceptional character and first class movements in all gaits. His ability and skill at the jump can only be described with superlatives: leg technique, bascule and talent couldn't be better!
The secret of this high degree of quality lies in the exquisite composition of his pedigree: His sire Converter I received the highest scores at his 30-day test in 2003 in Adelheidsdorf, including a 10.0 twice for his ability to jump. This achievement was followed by a series of first places in tests for young show jumpers and in 2005 he won the Oldenburg State Championships as well as a qualifier for the Bundeschampionat. In 2006 he was the second best jumper stallion at the WC in Lanaken, Belgium, and again qualified for the Bundeschampionat. His dam Papyon is also the dam of a medium (M) level show jumper mare named Flower’s Daughter (by Friedenstraum). Her sire Polydor is the sire of a number of highly significant jumper-makers in Germany. When the granddam Pasadena was bred to Cornet Obolensky, the result was the licensed stallion Cornet’s Stern (private stallion Oldenburg). She was also bred to Cornado I which produced another licensed stallion named Cornedo who was also a successful sport horse.
Further information:
Pasadena's sire Pilot is by Pilatus who was every bit as good as Polydor when it came to passing on jumping ability. Pilot was sort of a symbol of Westphalian performance breeding and in his day he was the youngest millionaire among German sires in terms of the earnings of his offspring. His most famous licensed sons are Pageno, Pit I, Pluspunkt, Phantom, Prominenz and Pinocchio. Pilot's influence in breeding spread well beyond the borders of Westphalia. You find him in nearly all German Warmblood breeds. In 2005, a life-size sculpture of him was placed in front of the Westphalian Horse Center in Münster-Handorf. In the fourth generation you find the Gotthard son Goldstern, one of his sire's best sons. His son Gipfelstürmer was on the German Nations Cup team for awhile with Holger Hetzel and many other Goldstern offspring also reached international level. Among his licensed sons, the winner of the 1987 Oldenburg licensing and the 1988 Bundeschampion Glorieux, who bred for many years at Gisela and Werner Schockemöhle's station before spending time at various State Studs in southern Germany, is especially noteworthy. Con Polydor goes back to the Westphalian mare line of Friedchen (by Feierabend-Flottweg-Schwarm-Hero). This line is the origin of Friedensritter (private stallion Westphalia), Glücksklee (State Stud Warendorf), Limited Edition (USA), Rossini (private stallion Rhineland) and an internationally successful Grandeur daughter named Gladdys S, who won 1.6 million Euros under Ludger Beerbaum.
Licensed for Westphalia and Rhineland, Oldenburg, OS-International as well as all Southern German and new German State Verbands.
Breeder: Patrick Müller, Pforzheim
