Champion Stallion 2011
"One of the very finest" – what Dicapo demonstrated over the jumps at the OS licensing in Vechta in 2011 is something that is rarely seen. Enormous ability, presented in an outstanding manner with a spic and span leg technique, he truly deserved the Champion Stallion title in this group of strong jumper stallions with international pedigrees!
His own pedigree is like a summit meeting of international show jumpers: His sire Diamant de Semilly won team gold at the World Championships in Jerez, Spain, and he took team silver a year later at the European Championships. Strictly bred for performance, he took the "Best Sire of Young Horses" title at French championships in Fontainebleau several times and can proudly look down on a whole armada of top international horses. The grandsire Le Tot de Semilly was also successful internationally and is deemed one of the best jumper-makers in France. The dam's sire Phin Phin, who was bred in Belgium and was also successful internationally, combines two successful Olympic jumper stallions in his pedigree, Chin Chin (Jaime Azcarraga/MEX) and Abdullah/Trakehner (Conrad Homfeld/USA). His granddam, a Hanoverian Winnetou daughter named Wienerin, is a full sister of the internationally well-known stallions Feo, Widukind de Lauzelle and Winzer. The Holstein stallion Burggraaf by Landgraf I, a stallion of the century, who is found in the third generation, was highly influential in Dutch breeding.
