1st Reserve Champion 2008 in Holstein
A stallion with a seldom found multi-talent, enormous charisma and a gorgeous silhouette. Lantino was the Reserve Champion of the 2008 Holstein licensing in Neumünster. The viewers were thrilled by his excellent trot and he was the strongest moving stallion in his age group. His canter and walk are exemplary and his jumping is distinguished by great caution, ideal ability and a very good technique. At his 30-day test which he took the end of 2009 in Schlieckau, Lantino prevailed over all of the 42 participants, finishing as the best jumper stallion at the test with an unbelievable weighted overall score of 9.36. The ability, technique and bascule of this youngster all earn the best scores. In 2010 he passed his 70-day test in Schlieckau with outstanding scores in jumping but was schooled in dressage first and placed among the best in tests for young riding and dressage horses. Meanwhile he has also won and placed in tests for young show jumpers in novice (A), elementary (L) and medium (M) level. A good number of his offspring have been awarded premiums.
His sire, Landos, a son of the stallion of the century, Lord, sired countless top performance horses. The dam's sire, Caretino, who was also successful in international show jumping, belongs to the circle of established Holstein Verband sires. He is one of the most versatile sires of his breed, producing horses that reach upper level dressage as well as upper level show jumping, a fact that has been reflected for many years in the German FN's predicted breeding value statistics.
Further information:
The granddam Undra I is the dam of the licensed stallion, Close-Up (private stallion Westphalia) by Claudio’s Son. Her sire Latino was an attractive stallion of medium size with good expression and pleasing lines. His movements were also very good and he consistently passed on this trait. The fourth generation slot is filled by the unforgotten trademark stallion Farnese, the sire of many top athletes in all disciplines (including Franke Sloothaak's Olympic Game horse, Farmer). Lantino comes from the still young Holstein line 8774 which has produced numerous sport horses and highly successful show mares, including the granddam Unora, who was Holstein's best mare during the 80s and stood at the center of attention at the DLG trade fair in Hanover.
Licensed for Holstein, Oldenburg, OS-International, Westphalia and Rhineland as well as all Southern German and new German State Verbands.
