An extraordinary stallion in European sport horse breeding
A first class main sire, Quidam's Rubin left the breeding stage much too early. In just a few years he had been able to firmly establish himself in the upper league of German jumper-makers. At his 30-day test in Prussendorf in 2002, Quidam’s Rubin received the maximum possible score of 10.0 for his jumping ability, a salute to his ancestors. In 2004 he won tests for young show jumpers and in the fall of that year he left his 70-day test in Neustadt/Dosse as the undisputed victor. In his speciality, show jumping, he received the highest possible score of 10.0 several times. In 2003, the Oldenburg Verband awarded him the I-a main premium in the lot of stallions with emphasis on jumping. In 2005, five sons from his first crop were licensed and in the meantime more than 25 of his sons have been licensed (including Quidamo, Quinnus I and II, Quidam Blue, Quidam Cento, Quintessenz, Quipeggio, Quite Rubin, Qui Lago and many others). His greatest achievements as a sire so far were when his licensed son, Quaid, who breeds at the State Stud Celle, won the class for five-year old show jumpers at the Bundeschampionat 2009 and when Quidam’s Quarz became the Hanoverian Champion of five-year olds. The many other offspring that have competed at the Bundeschampionats in Warendorf underline his worth as a sire.
His sire, Quidam de Revel, competed in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, winning team bronze and finishing fourth individually. His dam Helvecia (sport name: Lamante) was successfully ridden in advanced (S) level show jumping by Uwe Deyle. The offspring of the dam's sire Landgraf I have won more than 4.4 million Euros in sport, making him one of the best jumper-makers in the world. Caletto I, who appears in the third generation, was one of the most successful international jumpers in the 80s with Dr. Michael Rüping. Through Farnese and the Ladykiller xx son, Leander, the earlier ancestors go back to the proved Thoroughbred sire, Frivol xx, who is still found today in many successful lines. Line 144 is also the origin of a licensed stallion named Covrage (private stallion Denmark).
Licensed for Holstein, Westphalia, Rhineland, Oldenburg, OS-International, Hanover as well as all Southern German and new German State Verbands. Admitted to the Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program.
