About Stalypso Pedigree

The stallion-maker

With "seven-mile boots" into the first league of the best German sires, that's Stalypso! An exceptionally strong type, harmonious and strong moving son of the extraordinary jumper-maker, Stakkato, and in a class of his own over the jump. Simply a "complete" horse that leaves nothing to be desired. Stalypso led the crowd at the 30-day test in Schlieckau in 2005 and received a whole string of top scores, finishing with an overall score of 8.95. His ability to jump even received an outstanding 9.88. After the test he proceeded to win tests for young show jumpers in novice (A), elementary (L) and medium (M) level and completed the requirements for licensing by qualifying for the 2008 Bundeschampionat in Warendorf. In the meantime, in spite of heavy breeding duties, Stalypso has won and placed in upper level show jumping.

This main premium winning stallion of the year 2006 in Vechta had an exceptional start as a sire at the licensing venues in Germany. Five of his sons (Stanton - premium stallion in Verden, Straviaty - Reserve Champion OS, Stylist – Reserve Champion Mecklenburg, Stationär and Sugar Ray) were licensed in 2009. His success story continued seamlessly in 2010 when four further sons were licensed, including the best jumper stallion at the licensing in Munich and a premium stallion in Verden. In the mean time, eleven striking sons have been licensed.

The German FN's predicted breeding value statistics rank him as one of the most versatile sires in Germany: A respectable 120 points in dressage and an incredible 155 points in jumping clearly say it all.

Further information:

In 2011 his sire Stakkato dominated the FN's predicted breeding value statistics for show jumpers for the eleventh time in a row, making breeders focus on the Hanoverian Senator line again which had become thin at times. Highly successful in national show jumping competitions under Eva Bitter (2003 and 2010 German Champion in the class for women, 2004 Vice German Champion) as well as  internationally, the 1998 Bundeschampion also earned a good reputation in breeding: More than 40 sons were licensed. His dam, St.Pr.St. Caracalla II, did an excellent job at her broodmare performance test – an 8.0 for rideability and a 9.0 in jumping – and produced several very successful Stakkato offspring. An older full sister of his dam St.Pr.St. Caracalla I, St.Pr.St. Caracalla I, was bred to Stakkato as well which resulted in a licensed stallion named Spaceman (private stallion Netherlands, Westphalia) who has won show jumping classes up to medium (M) level. The dam's sire, Calypso II, adds Holstein bloodlines to the pedigree. He is one of the most influential sires in Germany and his offspring are distinguished not only by outstanding jumping ability but also excellent rideability.  The great granddam, Aphrodite, is also the dam of the licensed stallion, Fashion Black (by For Expo 2000), and a dressage horse named Sambuca (by Sherlock Holmes). Decisive impulses for Stalyso's looks came from the State Stud Celle sire, Grand Royal,  who is found in the third generation. His masterpiece was certainly Graf Anhalt E (private stallion Sachen-Anhalt), who won his performance tests and later ribbons in advanced (S) level show jumping. In the following generations you find Absatz, Wohlstand and Gouverneur, all performance-makers in Hanoverian breeding. The dam line is based on the mare family 1093/Goldmöwe (by Gouverneur-Feiertag III-Amtsjäger I-Fromund-Sportsmann-Jassy I-Naber-Alpensport-Mandat-Granada-Incognito-Kulan). This line produced the licensed and successful sport stallion, Eclypso (private stallion Hesse), the successful dressage horses Anklang 19/Dagmar Bartels, Aphrodite 23, Giedeon and Wendemond, all ridden by Annette Heumann, and show jumpers such as Chappelou.

Licensed for Hanover, Oldenburg, OS-International, Westphalia and Rhineland as well as all Southern German and new German State Verbands. Admitted to the Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program.
