An exceptional sire
The up to advanced dressage level trained Christ is a horse out of a fairy tale, sired by Calypso II who clearly influenced him: An elegant, black-brown coat that covers an ideally formed body – the large parts harmoniously integrated into a perfect silhouette. Maximum elasticity in every phase of his movements combined with ideal impulsion and forward thrust – that’s typical for Christ and for his offspring. Over Calypso II-grandson Competent, top show jumper Picard and Thoroughbred Daimyo xx Christ offers such a variety of blood lines and blood connections that is perfect for the modern dressage horse breeding.
So in breeding Christ made a fantastic debut: 17 sons have been licensed so far, including Collier (Mecklenburg champion stallion in 2013), Cadeau Noir, Cristall (I-c premium stallion in Vechta) and Coal Diamond (premium stallion in Verden in 2012). When looking at the price highlight Confexx Color (by Cadeau Noir) and premium stallion Raven (dam by Christ) it was clear that these two stallions have Christ as grandsire.
Right from the beginning Christ-offspring convinced under the saddle with powerful movements and talent for collection. In 2013 the licensed Coal Diamond became Vice Bundeschampion of three-year old stallions in Warendorf, in 2019 Costa Brava took the bronze medal in the class for four-year old mares and geldings in Rastede and Warendorf. Several Christ-offspring are already on the way to Grand Prix level in dressage sport. Christ‘s son Chrysler 2 (Hubertus Schmidt; Delia Eggenberger) made a fantastic debut in Grand Prix-classes already. And Candescent (Alica Tarjan) inspires the American experts with her incredible mechanic of movements. Cap Amour and Simone Pearce represented Christ successfully at the 2010‘ WC of young horses in Ermelo; Cadeau Noir crowned last year by winning the bronze medal in the Nürnberg Burg Trophy and taking the victory in the final freestyle class.
The multi-talented sire Competent had been in Hanoverian breeding for only a few years. Beside Christ he presented another licensed son named Chatman, who has been in breeding in Bavaria, in Verden. The dam's sire Picard, 1979' licensing winner of his age group in Verden, was highly esteemed by breeders of show jumpers. In view of performance he convinces absolutely due to the further sires Pik König, Gotthard, Frustra II and Dominus in the pedigree. Furthermore, he produced numerous top-class show jumpers. The great grandsire is the powerful Thoroughbred Daimyo xx, who sired strong and long-living sport horses which were distinguished by ambitious and prudence. The descending line leads to the Hanoverian dam line 853/Sudette (by Südul-Nikol-Condor-Campo-Adjutant-Schüppen Bube-Castor-Borwin-Falcon). This line is known for over 40 licensed stallions such as Achat, Derrik, Markus and Pommery (all state stud sires Celle), Lotse and Lützow (both state stud sires Dillenburg), Boss, Primas and Reinicke (all state stud sires Warendorf) as well as the private stallions Aktuell, Erasmus, Konsequent, Liebenberg, Prädikat, Rühmann, Sanford, Tempi Passati, Weltruf, Wilderer and Wildfang as well as the internationally successful show jumpers Lucie 55/Lars Nieberg, Top Gun/Jan Tops (NL) and Wakefield/Lutz Gössing.
