About Der König

The fine young sire Der König comes from Desperados FRH's far too short breeding career after his world career in the dressage arena. Still youthful in appearance, Der König can already show off his charm, long legs and strong movements. Typical of Desperados, Der König's stride is particularly good.

His sire Desperados FRH, who died at the beginning of 2020, was at home on the world dressage stage for many years. Under Kristina Bröring-Sprehe, he won team gold at the Olympic Games as well as the World and European Championships and was the most successful dressage horse in the world in 2016. At the same time, the son of De Niro, who himself topped the WBFSH dressage sire ranking for many years, set breeding milestones. His 38 licensed sons include Destacado FRH, the winner of the 2020 Nuremberg Burg Pokal final, and the Grand Prix-winning Olympic stallion Destano. Desperados can already boast a total of 67 S-successful offspring.

The dam Jazzmine is a Hanoverian daughter of the Dutch stallion Jazz, who was himself successful at Grand Prix level in the dressage arena and was listed several times in the WBFSH ranking as the most successful dressage sire in the world. The Jazz son Johnson currently leads this ranking. Jazzmine previously produced the Warendorf state stud stallion Florestanus in conjunction with Florestan I. The granddam Wironda is a direct daughter of the Hanoverian stallion legend Weltmeyer out of a daughter of the strong-moving thoroughbred Roncalli xx. When bred to Vivaldi, Wironda produced the licensed stallion Vancouver L. Wironda is also the maternal half-sister of the private stallion Bonheur and the successful advanced (S) level dressage stallion Brentana, both descended from Brentano II. Direct relatives include many successful advanced (S) level dressage horses such as Don Pleasure, Don Fangar, Dark Rose de Fangar and the Grand Prix mare Championesse 13.
