About Haaland

Harmoniously constructed young stallion of highly athletic elegance. The movement is unmistakably influenced by his sire Hickstead White: With lots of mechanics and a hind leg that is always powerfully active, the trot and canter in particular are of enormous quality. Haaland's jumping sequence combines the modernity of Hickstead White with the reflexes of his dam's sire Stakkato and the power and ability of the third-generation Contender. In the 14-day test in Neustadt/Dosse, the young stallion recorded an outstanding result with a final score of 9.18 for jumping. Haaland's show debut in 2022 could not have been more glamorous. With top scores of up to 8.8, he has five wins under the saddle of Sebastian Elias! Haaland is now being prepared for international competition under the saddle of U25 squad rider Henrike Ostermann.

His sire Hickstead White is the only licensed son of the Olympic champion Hickstead on German soil. Under Jörne Sprehe, he has placed in world ranking show jumping competitions. He has produced 24 licensed sons from three crops to date, and offspring from his debut crop have already made a strong impression in advanced level competitions. Hickstead White's dam Queentina was also victorious in jumping competitions up to 1.60m.

Haaland's dam Sophia is also from the best family. Her sire Stakkato revolutionized Hanoverian show jumper breeding with his speed. He is the sire of 246 successful advanced (S) level show jumpers and regularly appears as the dam's sire of high-quality show jumpers. His daughter Sophia also proved to be a first-class broodmare and had previously sired Cohinoor (PB NL), who was licensed and successful in 1.45 m show jumping competitions when bred to Cornet Obolensky. The Neustadt premium stallion Lanzardo (by L'Unico) is Sophia's third licensed son. Haaland's granddam Candy is a daughter of the Holstein breeding hero Contender. With Lakeland (by Lordanos) and the licensed, 1.45 m successful Cornwall (by Cornet Obolensky), she produced two international show jumping horses. With Graf Grannus and Hessenstein, highly proven jumping genetics also shine in the following generations. Haaland's line has already produced world-class show jumpers in various breeding areas, as impressively demonstrated by the 1.60 m successful Tyra (Yann Candele), Happydam (Jamie Wingrove) and Call me Number One (Linn Zakariasson and Richie Moloney).
