About Orient Gold

Olympia-Express

An athlete bursting with power with the very best sporting attributes and highly exclusive genetics. On the occasion of his licensing in Redefin, Orient Gold set off on superior flights of fancy round after round in the free jumping arena and turned the selection level free jumping into a demonstration of his ability. The statuesque chestnut also scored with a solid, correct foundation, a perfectly constructed topline and clearly above-average movements for a show jumper.

Orient Gold is the only active licensed son of the world-class stallion Orientexpress outside France. Orientexpress was one of the most successful horses of his generation. With Patrice Delaveau, he won team and individual silver at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, won the Nations Cup Final in Barcelona and the 5* Grand Prix in Falsterbo, La Baule and Helsinki. Orientexpress, on the other hand, is a son of Quick Star, who celebrated great success on the show jumping course with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and sired exceptional horses such as Nick Skelton's individual Olympic champion Big Star. Orientexpress' dam Kamtchatka is no less valuable. The daughter of the line founder Le Tôt de Semilly produced two further licensed sons and a total of four internationally successful show jumpers. She is also the maternal half-sister of the well-known stallion Dollar de la Pierre, who won team gold at the 2002 World Championships in Jerez as Tlaloc M under Reynald Angot.

Orient Gold's dam Carlotta is by Cornet Obolensky, who became European Team Champion under Marco Kutscher and is one of the most sought-after stallions in the world. The granddam Piazza is a direct daughter of the Westphalian breeding hero Pilot. Piazza herself won a series of tests for young show jumpers and later also achieved placings at advanced (S) level. Pilot is followed by Zeus and First Gotthard, two important stallions from the traditional Vorwerk station with a large proportion of French noble blood in their pedigree. The mare line has been successfully cultivated for generations at the Drewes breeding station (Brakel) with a clear focus on jumping performance. Orient Gold's third dam, Zamina, has produced four offspring that have placed in advanced (S) level show jumping competitions and is at the basis of eight other, mostly internationally successful advanced (S) level show jumpers, including the 1.60 m horses Ajayeb (Neal Fearon), Capital Look at Me D (Nicole Horwood) and Arpeggi (Brooke Kemper).
