Sir Gribaldi is a highly noble son of the formative Secret from the Hanoverian stallion licensing in Verden. The noble blood stallions All Inclusive and Lauries Crusador xx appearing in his dam's pedigree have significantly influenced Sir Gribaldi's type expression. Sir Gribaldi's unshakeable basic impulsion makes an impression in the movement presentation. Right from his first appearance under saddle in Vechta, he won the hearts of many breeders, who were anything but disappointed by his confident short test in Münster (final score 8.59). His sire Secret carries the blood of triple world champion Sezuan on his father's side. He was HLP winner and Vice Bundeschampion as a three-year-old, Vice World Champion as a five-year-old and Dressage Horse Bundeschampion as a six-year-old. From his first two crops, he produced 24 licensed sons, various prize winners and Bundeschampions in Germany alone.
Sir Gribaldi's dam Ashanti carries type-defining noble blood elements through her Trakehner sire All Inclusive. All Inclusive combines the Trakehner stallions Gribaldi and Buddenbrock. He was reserve champion at his licensing, later won the advanced class in the dressage arena and was honored as an elite Trakehner stallion. With only sporadic breeding use, he produced the remarkable numbers of five licensed sons and 32 premium mares. The granddam Light my fire is a daughter of the thoroughbred Lauries Crusador xx, who was already declared a legend during his lifetime, the founder of the line and sire of 71 sons, most of whom were licensed in Hanover. The pedigree includes Weltmeyer, Wendekreis and Cardinal xx, classics of Hanoverian performance breeding and heroes of their time. The sire Cardinal xx exerted a valuable influence on riding horse breeding from Schmidt/Ankum Stud.
Artland is also the origin of the Hanoverian mare line of Dodica, from which previously licensed stallions such as Selectric, Windsurfer and Weingold emerged. The clear hereditary focus of the family is on high-level dressage sport with a high degree of accuracy. The clear figurehead is the Fidermark son Vom Feinsten, who performed in the dressage arena at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (2016) and the WEG in Tryon (2018) under Julie Brougham (NZL).
